Synopsis:

Sonic Underground was the third animated series to feature Sega's popular video game character, Sonic the Hedgehog. As with the previous two series, ABC's Sonic the Hedgehog and the syndicated Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog, this show took on a slightly different direction and tone than the other series.

This time Sonic was one of three siblings, who together were known as the hit rock band "Sonic Underground" - but this was merely a cover to hide their true identities. In reality they were the children of Aleena, queen of Mobius, who separated her children and hid them away at an early age to keep them safe from the evil dictator who overthrew her and killed her husband: Sonic's age-old enemy, Dr. Robotnik.

Robotnik learned of a prophecy from the Oracle of Delphius that the hedgehogs would one day find their mother and become the Council of Four, thus defeating him and restoring peace to the planet.

He immediately schemed to ensure the super-charged siblings did not fulfill this premonition. But with the aid of powerful medallions, Sonic, his brother Manic and their sister Sonia were determined to take the fight to Robotnik and his swat bots, as well as take the fight for freedom to a whole new velocity level.

Two canine bounty hunters, the conniving Sleet and the strong but stupid Dingo, served as Robotnik's leading henchmen in this series.

40 episodes were made for Sonic underground, but only 30 were broadcast before the show was cancelled.
